2020 was a lot of things, to the world, to us. It might largely be remembered for just one thing in time to come, but that shouldn’t take away everything else that had happen in the past year. In what was probably the most extraordinary year most of us has ever lived through, it is not easy at all to foresee what will be awaiting us in the coming year.
For 3 years in a row, my yearly reflections had been titled on how quick the years have gone by (2017: A Beautiful Blur, 2018: A Blink of an Eye, 2019: Too much, too fast) but 2020 had really been the year where a lot had occurred, yet nothing much really happened.
At the start
I’m not even sure where and how to begin thinking about the year. I guess it makes sense to start from the top, Jan 2020 where people are full of hopes and covid-19 doesn’t have an official name yet, or is even known by people worldwide.
Did Robert’s exhibition, had a decent SAW, CNY came and go. And then things started to change. We had to start changing how we live and when the circuit breaker was announced, it was a major point where life simply stopped…
