Been half a month through January and crazy times during SAW but as per usual, just wish to kind of round up the past year and look back on what happened, what did not, and how far I’ve come.
While 2021 felt like a repeat of 2020, there are also significant differences — differences in how we live, how we deal with things, how we interact, and more.
What Happened
Heading into 2021, we did not know what to expect as things were taking a turn for the better and Singapore even allowed up to 8 pax social gathering. We began working without a dedicated director to the Singapore space, put up an exhibition, went a little bit lost, and the covid situation started going downhill once more.
From May to November, it seemed like things never really stopped changing as restrictions flip-flopped between 2 pax, 5 pax, no dining in, and more variations in between. Things got better in between, then worse again, improved a little, and Delta came about, then we just all became kind of desensitised with it all. Vaccinations were rolled out, side effects were terrible, but through it out we were told to adapt to living with the virus.
Things went by like a blur as we were constantly taking steps forward then backwards, always moving but not really getting anywhere.
